We aren’t saying that hypothetically, the GoGear Muse 3 has the features to  back up our  claim, and to start off let us tell you that the gadget comes with an impressive set of features including the liked of native support for FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and APE to keep audiophiles conceited and a FM tuner.

Now, while we would say that the Philips GoGear Muse 3 is one of the finest music player that we’ve tested, we also will like to tell that the device still lags behind Apple’s iPod, and while it is second biggest selling media player in UK (after Apple) we will like to mention that it just is not potent enough to dethrone Apple of its position.

Ease of Use

The Philips GoGear Muse 3 weighs 106g, which makes it pretty clear that neither is it small nor is it light. That said, the device does flaunt a solid brushed metal rear and front.

The GoGear Muse 3 takes quite a long time to get started from a completely off state, while from the idle state it’s almost instant. The user interface of the device is rather confusing and we found ourselves stuck in the interface more than once.

The Philips GoGear Muse 3 boasts a 3.2 in touchscreen that has a native resolution of 480 x 320 and has aspect ratio of 16:9, which means that the device can playback TV media and movie without the need of cropping the device. The GoGear Muse 3 could handle WMV9, RMVB video codecs and MPEG4 too though we found the display to be rather gritty.

In addition all the aforementioned features the GoGear Muse 3 also offers a wide range of customization options for the users, and you also can save a lot of money with this.
