Nike Triax Elite HRM/SDM is designed and engineered for serious athletes devoted to serious training and includes watch, computer software, heart rate monitor and Speed Distance Monitor. It precisely measures speed, heart rate and distance and is quite easy to use, providing fast data transfers. It is an excellent choice for those who are in training for marathon. The four-part digital training system, Nike Triax Elite takes the guesswork out of planning your everyday runs. All four parts of this system are well designed with excellent software, but managing the complete package needs more work than it is worth for casual runners.

The Nike Triax Elite HRM/SDM’s package comprises of four different components such as wristwatch, heart rate transistor belt, which you strap around your chest, hockey puck size USB dock for downloading and uploading data between your computer and watch and distance and speed monitor pod, which clips onto your shoe. Before you start running, you will have to install the included PC software that works Nike Triax Elite HRM/SDMon Mac using OS X and OS 8.6 computers, then synchronize your watch with the machine. You can make longer term exercise plans and add day to day workouts and also tag runs with keywords so that you can aggregate identically named workouts. The polycarbonate, stainless steel watch has signature diagonal display of Nike and is pretty readable.

The Nike Triax Elite HRM/SDM is designed for handling comprehensive training; heart rate, distance, time and speed in one user-friendly package. It is named as Outside Magazine’s 2004 “Gear of the Year” winner for Fitness Watches that connects to a PC for downloading workout data, watching settings and uploading workout plans. The full featured training software helps you set goals, log workouts, analyze results and build training plans, while the digital transmission eliminates cross-talk from other wireless devices. Its memory offers split time, lap time, distance, average heart rate and average pace for each lap count. The Data mode recalls lap/timing memory, average heart rate and average pace for each saved run. Pre-set alarms alert you when you are outside your target zones. Although, the Triax Elite doesn’t feature GPS; it is exceedingly good at what it promises to do.
