Google Introduces Hub for 2012 Elections
News — On January 4, 2012 at 4:58 amWith Election Day still 9 months off, Google is getting the United States ready for the ballot box. Google, a Web giant today introduced an election hub where citizens can participate, study, learn about, watch and discuss and perhaps even make impact on digital campaign trail as it blazes forward to Tuesday on 6th November 2012, Mr. Eric Hysen wrote on company blog. The Google.com/elections page enables to browse by issue or candidate, while Trends browsers shows how regularly candidates are subject of Google News mentions, YouTube views and Google searches. This particular page also includes On the Ground map feature, which connects to current political news events around the county.
You will find a section, which filters for news on most significant issues like immigration, government spending and healthcare. Alongside United States edition, Google has also created Egyptian edition with coverage of different political parties along with filters for most significant issues. This site has productivity tool kit for journalists and campaign workers. Apart from web presence, the Atlantic Wire points out that Web giant is creating media hangout centers for journalists who are physically covering the election. For Iowa caucus at Polk County Convention Complex, it has ritzy little setup inhabited with chairs, bean bags, touchscreen televisions, couches, coffee, local cuisine, tech help center and two treadmills; all for making consumption easier and election coverage, so there is no reason to be uniformed this year.
