Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi – Bright seven inch screen
Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi – Bright seven inch screen
Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi is 4.7 inches wide, 0.5 inch thick, and 7.5 inches thick. It has a paper-back, solid feel and you can hold it comfortably in one hand. Unlike Apple iPad, I didn’t have to put the Tab in my laps or cross my legs for using it comfortably. The operation is quite similar to a bit Android smartphone and it doesn’t require any learning curve for navigating the menus, typing e-mails or browsing the Web. Two big features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi are smaller size, which makes it a better portable tablet than the Apple iPad and the Android 2.2 undiluted experience. The OS is complete with third party applications and there is official Android market for all the greatest and latest apps. There is a tablet optimized Android version called Honeycomb  [...]

Zire 31 from Palm – Fast processor
Zire 31 from Palm – Fast processor
Zire 31 is a Palm device and it is 4.4 inches by 2.9 inches by 0.6 inches. The device weighs 4.1 ounces and the light and compact gadget feels good in the hand. You can easily tuck it in the pocket or stow it in to a bag. The five direction navigation keypad along with two buttons for shortcut is located underneath the display which can be easily accessed by one hand. Zire 31 has a display with resolution of 160x160 pixels. The screen is bright enough but the resolution is a bit low and my images didn’t look well defined. Extended use strained my eyes too. As compared to this, the TJ27 has a resolution of 320x320 pixels with support for 65,536 colors. The manufacturer gives a flexible cover for the screen but if you want something sturdier, you will have  [...]

HP iPaq hx2790 – Low resolution screen
PDAs are not as popular as they were awhile ago and it is mainly because all the PDA functions are now being incorporated in a mobile phone. HP pretends it doesn't care and brings another PDA in to the market. HP iPaq hx2790 is a device which sticks to the basics; it has all the offerings that you, as a businessman, would yearn for and apart from that, there are good entertainment features too. This device comes with Windows Mobile 5 arms mobile professionals and there are lots of tools to serve your business needs. There are a couple of drawbacks though, this device doesn't have a high resolution display that we are now used to seeing on such PDAs like Palm TX and Dell Axim X51v. Thus the videos and images don't look too good on it. This gadget is also relatively chunky and overweight and  [...]

Asus MyPal A636 – Sluggish performance
Asus MyPal A636 – Sluggish performance
Asus MyPal A636 come integrated with GPS receiver and its fold out antenna is quite intriguing. This device is thicker and heavier as compared to other GPS enabled PDAs but the A636 comes with excellent controls and the maps too are well designed for providing accurate location with good directions. The rated battery life is nine hours which is pretty impressive but we were turned off by the mediocre performance. The display is 3.5 inches big and it is not as good as other PDAs. But if you don’t care about all these drawbacks and want a PDA just to make sure you don’t get lost, then get the this device. The cost of this gadget is $600 which is a bit higher as compared to competition. Asus MyPal A636 is different from the new generation portable and handheld in car GPS devices. This gadget  [...]
