TDK ST800 – An Excellent Set of Headphones
TDK primarily is a name that you generally associate with cassettes and it undoubtedly is the kind of cassettes, but here we are seeing the latest offering from the company and strangely it’s a high-end headphone, the TDK ST800. And just as the overwhelming Boombox, this latest retro design of the headphones brings some incredibly impressive innovations.
The best thing about the TDK ST800 is that these aren’t any rebranded headphones, but instead are real innovation from the company and here it’s the incredible in-line graphic equalizer and a really tactile on-ear volume wheel.
The heavy metal build of the TDK ST800, thick plastic and genuine leather are some of the features that justifies the high-price of [...]

Sennheiser HD205 II DJ Headphones – Good fit over the head
Sennheiser usually makes expensive and elite headphones but there are some budget conscious headphones and Sennheiser HD205 II is a good example of it. The list price of this product is $80 but you can get it for $49 - $59 online. It is made for music enthusiasts and can be used by recording artists and DJs as well. This set has a semienclosed circumaural design and the manufacturer is backing a two year warranty for this headphones.
There is a thick, large vinyl carrying bag and 1/4 inch gold plated adapter which screws inside on the 1/8 inch plug. Construction is quite decent but there is some flex. Longevity is an issue but how the set is used depends on the user. While adjusting the band, I noticed a distinct creaking sound coming from the headphone frame’s left side.
The [...]

Bluetooth headphones review of Motorola CommandOne
Motorola is more known for its Android phones these days but this manufacturer also makes accessories like Bluetooth headsets. One of the recent products is Motorola CommandOne; it has Motorola’s own CrystalTalk technology of noise cancellation with A2DP streaming, voice prompts and multipoint. It is compatible with mobile app which lets you send/receive the text messages without even touching the handset. Motorola CommandOne costs $99.99 retail.
There is nothing spectacular about the Motorola CommandOne design. Its looks are typical of a Bluetooth headsets with 2.13 inches length, 0.43 inch thickness and 0.73 inch width. The headset is rectangular shaped and it is clad in gray shiny plastic on its front. The sides are covered in rubber soft material. This device is also curved a [...]

Noise canceling headphones review of JVC HA-NC250
JVC has got a good reputation of making inexpensive noise-canceling headphones, I have tested a few of them in my labs and the sound quality has totally lived up to my expectations. However, the JVC HA-NC250 noise canceling headphones are a bit more expensive and are made for people who would willingly spend more. With a price tag of $199.99 I would recommend this set more to audiophiles. If you can afford to spend this much, let me tell you that the sound quality really lives up to the price tag, music seems balanced and nice. Also, these headphones are pretty affordable as compared to Bose QuietComfort 3 which costs about $350.
The first thing that I noticed about the JVC HA-NC250 noise canceling headphones is that it is very comfortable as compared to [...]

Fontopia MDR-EX51LP from Sony – Seals the ears well
When it comes to headphones, I usually look for three features – the sound quality must be good, they should be comfortable and the set must easily block any outside sounds so that nothing comes between your music and you. When I first heard the Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51LP, I was surprised at how thin the sound was as compared to other sets like JBuds. The music which had strong bottom end looked much lighter compared to this. This is not really bothersome but it’s something that you should be aware of. The sound generation of this set is closer and cleaner to the coloring of original coloring - they are more transparent. I tested the set with a variety of genres and my initial results were confirmed. They sound quality is really nice.
Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51LP [...]

Stax headphones: Review of the SR-007 MK2 Headphones
Audiophiles are really crazy about getting good quality sound from the headphones and are willing to pay any amount of money for it. Stax, a Japanese manufacturer sent the Stax SD-007 MK2 headphones in my labs for review and it is the flagship model of this company. The sound quality was truly amazing and I won’t be forgetting this set anytime soon.
Most headphones available in the market use dynamic diaphragms but here, the manufacturer has put in electrostatic speakers for the Stax headphones and the company is calling it ‘earspeakers’. They say that this set can product better subtle nuances in the music. [...]
